About
Re-Present Studios

Our company name not only emphasizes our focus as a company on true representation in the industry; the word 'Re-Present' is actually a combination of two words - 're' meaning 'again' or 'repeat' and 'present' meaning 'to introduce or show something.' This combination of words creates a powerful message that we are not only introducing something new, but that we are also reclaiming voices and narratives that may have been buried, lost or forgotten.

That is why Re-Present Studios is primarily a platform that focuses on spotlighting marginalized performers and storytellers of all kinds, who have had stories from their cultures & subcultures, denied, reduced, altered, or simply told by someone else. We offer them a platform to tell those very narratives and tales, as they bring to them their unique perspectives, informed by their own cultures, history and personal experiences.

Even though Re-Present Studios was inspired by a profound frustration with the status quo of the performance industry, it is nevertheless founded on the faith that there should always be room for everyone to tell their own stories. We maintain that the demand for diverse narratives and storytellers exists and by showing up and owning our own narratives, we impact not only the performance industry, but society and history as a whole.

Mission & Mindset

Our values are straightforward and our mission is clear.  We are here to:

Promote the joy of representation, diversity, and inclusion, amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities.

Foster a safe, creative, and inclusive environment that welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and experiences.

Challenge the status quo and disrupt the traditional power structures of the entertainment industry.

Transform the landscape of entertainment, promoting a more diverse and equitable representation of stories and perspectives.

The Joy of
Re-Presentation

Talk of diversity, inclusivity and representation has certainly increased in recent years, but many people still find these topics daunting and difficult to navigate.

At Re-Present Studios, we understand the gravity of these issues, but we are committed to moving forward as artists to create safe spaces for storytelling, dispelling any fears or apprehensions.  We believe that we are responsible to showcase (or to Re-Present) an alternative reality; one in which all voices are heard and differences are joyfully celebrated.

We don't simply view representation as important; we believe in the Joy of Re-Presentation and its potential to create a better world. By embracing diverse perspectives and experiences as creatives, we can challenge our preconceived notions and build a more inclusive and equitable society.

"It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity, there is beauty, and there is strength."
